On the 1st of January 2022, I started as a Smart Energy & Industry project developer at SmartPort. As a project developer, my goal is to recognize the pressing questions of the business community in the field of energy transition and the developments within the Rotterdam HIC and to convert these into scientific research in consultation with research bodies. With the possibilities we offer companies the necessary information about the challenges of today to deal with them in the right way.

SmartPort is the perfect next step after I recently completed my studies in Global History and International Relations at Erasmus University. During this study I specialized in port strategy and mentioned the strategy during the energy transition from coal to oil after the Second World War. Learning from the past is therefore one of the perspectives that I will take with me in my working life. I look all over the world to use my knowledge to set up projects related to the energy transition within the port of Rotterdam; especially now, the importance of cooperation between science and industry is very great.
