This Roadmap makes the Rotterdam port area a leader in smart logistics: transport chains are sustainable, reliable and efficient and Rotterdam is a hub in the global logistics network. The Roadmap focuses in particular on the container market: it has the strongest growth potential within the transport offer, but at the same time it also shows the fiercest competition with other ports. Digitization and automation are currently the driving programs in this roadmap.
Smart Shipping- impactstory SmartPort
Technological innovations follow each other in rapid succession. In recent years, SmartPort has supported various studies in the field of infrastructure and logistics in relation to digitization in shipping. The results of the various studies are now coming together and make SmartPort a knowledge hub for Smart Shipping and receiving autonomous ships in Rotterdam.
