‘Making research more applicable for businesses’

Dirk Koppenol PhD – “In 2016, I promoted on the issue lobbying for port land reclamation Maasvlakte 2, when working with the Port of Rotterdam Authority. Sinds September 2015, I’ve worked at SmartPort. As portfolio manager, I focus on increasing the impact of SmartPort research in the field of innovation in the port of Rotterdam. I’m convinced that knowledge is an important driver of innovation, provided it is transferred in the proper way. That is why we recently launched the SmartPort-visual and other tools, to make scientific research more accessible and knowledge more applicable for businesses.”
